A rainbow that reportedly lasted for nearly nine hours was spotted in the skies above Taipei on November 30. According to reports from Channel NewsAsia and Taiwan News, based on observations from two researchers from the Department of Atmospheric Science at Taipei’s Chinese Culture University, the rainbow lasted from 6:57 am to 3:55 pm. Their observations have yet to be confirmed, but the previous record-holder was a rainbow that lasted for six hours in Yorkshire, England, on March 14, 1994, the BBC reported. Chou and his team have gathered thousands of images of the rainbow and plan to apply for a Guinness World Record, according to the BBC’s report. This footage shows the rainbow from a distance.
