Family Lost Their Beloved Dog In A House Fire, New Furry Family Member Brings Joy To Their Life
Imagine losing it all in a split second. For Ashley Sylvia and her family from Bluffdale, Utah, life would never be the same again after March 23rd, when fire flames tore through their family home, reducing it to dust.
Their whole world collapsed as the firefighters carried out the family’s beloved five-year-old Dachshund, Flash, who lay lifeless in the fireman’s arms.
“Despite flames bursting from the house, I was hopeful that Flash would make it through. Unfortunately, just a few minutes later I saw the firemen coming out holding Flash, but in his arms, was a limp and lifeless pup. I immediately fell to my knees and began sobbing, it felt like a scene from a horror film. Breaking the news to the children was the hardest part of all.” said Ashley, remembering in sorrow the fatal day.
Six months after the “traumatizing” tragedy, the Sylvia family have moved back into their fully renovated home, but still something was missing: their beloved furry friend - Flash.
In an attempt to fill the emptiness in their lives, the parents decided to surprise their three children Dallin, Claire and Delaney with a new puppy
“We had been searching for a little while, but after seeing the ad for Teddy, I drove and picked him up that day, without even telling my husband.”
That morning the kids were sitting in the kitchen eating their breakfast. Then came up their dad Andrew holding in his arms the the newest member of the Sylvia family, Teddy, an adorable adopted dog. This moved to tears Dallin and Clarie. Overwhelmed by the surprise, Ashley and family finally feel as if the Sylvia contingent is whole once again.
