A Shia militia allied with the Iraqi army can be seen firing automatic weapons and cheering in the Anbar desert on November 22 after what was likely a successful engagement against Islamic State militants in the area. This footage, taken at the front line, shows fighters cheering and firing automatic weapons. One says, “For you, Hussein,” a Shia expression, and a partially damaged flag that depicts Shia martyr Imam Hussein can be seen fluttering above a US-made M1151 military vehicle. Overhead flies a French-made EC635 Eurocopter, used by the Iraqi military. Iraqi forces captured the last Islamic State stronghold in Iraq, the city of Rawa, on November 17, and are now pursuing Islamic State fighters into the desert bordering Syria.
