I Quit Alcohol for 3258 Days (Why I’m Never Going Back)
00:00 - I have quit alcohol for 3258 days and I'm never going back to it. You will love hearing my experience!
00:35 - I often focused on the negative impacts of drinking, like wrecking my car and hurting others. I realized being an alcoholic was painful and lonely.
01:04 - It's important to know thyself. My first drink gave me a feeling of euphoria, but it was a trap leading to one of my worst hangovers.
02:20 - If you struggle with anxiety, you might find alcohol temporarily helps, but it's a mismanagement of energy. Anxiety is energy not applied joyfully or helpfully.
03:22 - Alcoholics Anonymous showed me how to live sober and like it. The real problem for alcoholics is not liking being sober.
04:09 - I maintain a healthy lifestyle with a whole plant-based diet. My mind functions well, and I'm prepared for any problem.
04:34 - Alcohol numbs pain temporarily but obscures clear vision. I avoid interacting with people who are drunk.
04:54 - In AA, my brain got reprogrammed to see truthfully. Alcohol is unnecessary and can be destructive.
05:25 - I'm happy being sober and attending AA meetings regularly. I'm free from the worries of drunk driving or impaired judgment.
05:49 - Alcohol and drugs strip you of power, creating a fog. When life feels worse when sober, it's a sign of deeper issues.
06:11 - Sobriety is about handling life's problems with clarity. You have the power to handle life's challenges without alcohol.
06:47 - Alcohol and drugs are a temporary escape from problems. Being sober allows you to see clearly and live genuinely.
07:20 - Drunk people are difficult to interact with. In AA, I saw how alcohol deceives us into thinking it's beneficial.
07:46 - The truth is, alcohol is unnecessary. It's sold through lies and manipulations in commercials and media.
08:43 - Sobriety felt worse at first due to the acute pain of facing life's issues. But it's necessary for genuine healing and growth.
09:06 - My unconscious mind was programmed to drink in response to life's challenges. Changing this programming was tough but crucial.
09:57 - We're conditioned to drink in various scenarios. Recognizing and changing this conditioning is key to overcoming alcoholism.
10:19 - The beginning of changing your programming is painful but essential. It's like learning to drive a car in a new way.
10:39 - Sobriety requires relearning how to live. Old programming from media and society is toxic and misleading.
11:00 - Growing up, I saw the effects of alcoholism in my father. My college environment reprogrammed me to drink.
11:27 - When I got sober, I had to reprogram my mind and avoid environments that encouraged drinking.
11:56 - AA helped me stay sober and understand my impulses. It provided support and guidance through my sobriety journey.
12:18 - Being sober unlocked other aspects of my life. I could focus on health, relationships, and personal growth.
13:11 - I reprogrammed my mind to reject alcohol's lies. My experience in college showed how powerful societal programming can be.
13:43 - My journey to sobriety was a process of unlearning harmful beliefs and embracing a healthier lifestyle.
14:05 - In AA, I learned to question why I turned to alcohol and how to find healthier coping mechanisms.
15:17 - I overcame feelings of powerlessness and hopelessness through sobriety. It empowered me to make positive changes in my life.
15:40 - Alcohol takes away your power and misdirects your energy. Sobriety allowed me to regain control and live intentionally.
16:44 - Understanding money and sex is crucial for a fulfilling life. Sobriety helped me gain clarity and control in these areas.
17:19 - Our society is designed to exploit and misdirect us. Sobriety helps resist manipulation and live authentically.
