A video has emerged of a sudden hail storm raining down in Siberia leaving beachgoers in Novosibirsk desperately seeking shelter. The freaky downpour of large balls of ice left bathers running for their lives!

This footage filmed in the eastern city of Novosibirsk shows sunbathers and swimmers fleeing the beach and the water to seek shelter from the hail storm. A nice sunny day ended up being windy and stormy, when all of a sudden temperatures dropped from 41 to 21 degrees.

A large number of beachgoers can be seen enjoying themselves on the bank of the River Ob when suddenly ice balls start falling out of the blue. People can be heard shouting as the severe storm seems to be never-ending. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries on the beach whatsoever. Nobody could have anticipated this sudden change in weather condition!

However, the Investigative Committee said in a statement published online that two young girls aged three and four had been killed in the lakeside town of Bredsk. The two girls died after sustaining traumatic brain injuries when a tree fell on their tent, where they were taking shelter from the storm along with their families. We feel for the families and we condole for their loss!

Weather has been unusually extreme across Russia, with snow hitting parts of central Russia that rarely see freezing temperatures in summer. Global change takes its toll!
