A man has been arrested after allegedly driving through a crowd of protesters at an immigration rally in Brea, California, on Thursday, October 26. This dramatic video showed the moment protesters surrounded a car on East Birch Street at the junction with South Brea Boulevard. The car then began to move forwards, as protesters clung to the sides and the bonnet. Police were then seen running towards the front of the car as it came to a stop just a few seconds later. Daniel Wenzek, 56, of Brea, has been arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Brea Police told KTLA5. The demonstration was held by labour union Unite Here over fears that changes to immigration laws might result in members losing temporary protected immigration status, according to the Los Angeles Times. The protesters intended to deliver letters detailing their concerns to GOP Rep. Ed Royce’s Brea office in West Birch Street, the newspaper reported. Credit: Antonio Mendoza via Storyful
