Private citizens independently coordinating relief efforts in Puerto Rico delivered a small generator on October 26 to a facility in Isabela that houses and cares for elderly women. In the first video, the director of the facility says it has no running water and no electricity to run lights, fans and medical equipment for the thirteen women housed there. Andres Rosa and the Pirate Surf Club Hurricane Relief group, whose members either live in Puerto Rico or have family there, have been coordinating their own relief efforts and supply distribution, particularly on the western side of the island. The grandmother of one of the group’s members lives at the elderly facility in Isabela. The second video shows an elderly man living alone in Arecibo, without power or basic supplies, highlighting the continued need for aid across Puerto Rico. Credit: Facebook/Andres Rosa via Storyful
