19 Palestinians have been killed and at least 20 others wounded after Israel Defence Forces conducted hours-long raids in the occupied West Bank. The Palestinian health ministry said that 14 casualties occurred in the IDF raids on Jenin refugee camp. Amongst those killed was a 15-year-old boy, the Palestinian health ministry said. Separately, five Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces elsewhere in the West Bank, the health ministry said.
It’s the highest West Bank death toll from a single Israeli raid since 2005, according to United Nations records. Clashes also flared elsewhere in the West Bank, with deaths reported close to Bethlehem, Nablus and Hebron as well as on the outskirts of Ramallah.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said one of its paramedics was shot in the back when an "ambulance was targeted" during the raid. Rubble and debris were strewn across the streets of Jenin following the raid, and bloodstains could be seen on the ground.
The latest figures take the death toll in occupied West Bank to 182 since October 7, as per Palestinian news agency Wafa.
