Waves Splash Over Seawall on Connecticut Shoreline

High winds churned Long Island Sound off the coast of Connecticut on Tuesday, October 24. Wind gusts of 31 miles per hour were reported at the airport in New Haven, according to the National Weather Service. LaGuardia Airport had the highest recorded wind gusts in the region, at 47 miles per hour. Heavy rain was expected through Tuesday and into Wednesday with up to two to three inches forecasted to fall.
