Hundreds of protesters rallied outside the University of Florida on October 19 as the prominent white nationalist Richard Spencer made a speech inside. Crowds chanted, “We are here to stay, we will fight the KKK!” Ahead of Spencer’s speech, Florida’s Governor Rick Scott declared a state of emergency for Alachua County, where the university is located, in order for law enforcement agencies to work more efficiently. Hundreds of police officers were present on campus and remained after Spencer ended his speech early. Credit: Instagram/saskiapaskia via Storyful
