Wildfires fanned by high winds burned across the southern parts of Alberta on Tuesday, October 17, forcing the evacuations of households in their path. In Gleichen, where this video was taken, authorities declared a state of emergency and residents were evacuated as the fires closed in. The wildfires were fuelled by strong winds that had torn through the Canadian province that day, with wind speeds recorded at as high as 80 mph, the Calgary Sun reported.
