Several hundred wooden pallets caught fire at a 1,000 square meter site in Alt-Hohenschönhausen, a district in Lichtenberg, Berlin, on October 13, sending billowing clouds of smoke up into the evening air. This video shows a glimpse of the smoke from the fire, which was first reported at about 7 pm, according to Der Tagesspiegel. Explosions can be heard in the background, and Der Tagesspiegel reported that compressed gas containers had exploded due to the fire, forcing emergency personnel to retreat.
