Turkish military forces have been deployed on the border with Syria, as seen in this video from October 11, as a military operation to control parts of northern Idlib province was expected. On September 15, Turkey, Russia, and Iran reached an agreement in Astana, Kazakhstan, to create a new “de-escalation zone” in Idlib. Turkish officials said they would provide assistance to Syrian opposition fighters aiming to implement the de-escalation agreement, according to Reuters. The oppositions fighters had reportedly launched an offensive against jihadists from Tahrir al-Sham in Idlib. Credit: YouTube/Smart News via Storyful
