Winds drove the growth of the Canyon 2 wild fire in the hills near Anaheim, California, on October 9. On October 10, CAL FIRE said Canyon 2 had been 25 percent contained, but that mandatory evacuations remained in place. The fire was first reported on Monday near Anaheim Hills and quickly grew due to high winds and dry conditions in the area. Multiple fires were reported in California on Monday and Tuesday, prompting Gov Jerry Brown to request a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration to support state and local response to wildfires burning across the state. At least 10 people have died in the Napa Valley wildfires, and more than 20,000 residents had been evacuated. Credit: Twitter/The Resistance CA via Storyful
