A raging wildfire burnt 8,200 acres in California’s Yuba County on the evening of October 8, spreading at an estimated 1,000 acres per hour. This footage, taken by a couple driven along Loma Roca Road in Yuba County, shows flames scorching the sides of the road. Gov. Jerry Brown issued an emergency proclamation on Monday for Napa, Sonoma, and Yuba counties and estimated at least 1,500 homes and commercial buildings were destroyed in the blaze, which has been dubbed the Cascade Fire.
