A large wildfire burning on Atlas Peak in California’s Napa Valley forced the evacuations of some residents on October 8, local media reported. Cal Fire said on October 9 that firefighters were battling a 25,000-acre blaze off Altas Peak Road, south of Lake Berryessa. At least two people were killed in the Napa Valley wildfire and eight more fire-related deaths were reported in California’s Sonoma County and Mendocino counties, according to ABC. The Napa County Sheriff’s Office said evacuations were also underway after another fire broke out west of Calistoga, which was around 36 miles from Atlas Peak.
