Labour leader Jacinda Ardern on Sunday, October 8, met with New Zealand First leader Winston Peters, who held the balance of power following New Zealand’s general election two weeks prior. The meeting was part of a negotiation process Peters was conducting with both Ardern and Prime Minister Bill English of the National Party. Both hope to win power through the confidential talks, The Australian reported. According to the New Zealand Herald Ardern and English will have to peruse the political “wish list” of the populist party leader to reach a deal. Credit: Twitter/Jodi Ihaka via Storyful
