England managed to qualify for next year's World Cup on their match with Slovenia on October 5, only it wasn't exactly the most exciting game to watch. In fact, some fans at Wembley were so bored during the team's tepid 1-0 win, that they took to throwing paper airplanes on to the pitch.

The dullfest took a very unusual turn when cameras caught a paper airplane sliding down towards the field, shot by someone from the English supporters. It wouldn’t be a first for a pilotless aircraft to make an appearance on a football match played at Wembley between England and some other poor sods. Only this time, the paper aircraft managed to score for the home team!

Video from Andy Houston who was at the game shows one paper aeroplane slowly making its way into one of the goals, resulting in arguably the biggest roar from the crowd of the whole evening. Beat that, Harry Keane...

Houston reckons the paper aeroplane was sent all the way from the top tier.

Tweeted Houston: "You know England are ***** when a plane landing in the net gets the biggest cheer."

It seems like this tweet sums up the Thursday night match perfectly: Paid £35 quid and travelled for 4 hours to Wembley to watch a paper plane throwing competition. England are absolute dross.”
