A police officer appeared to kick a man in footage showing protesters clashing with Northern Territory Police in Alice Springs on September 29, as those gathered called for an end to juvenile detention. The video footage was recorded after violence erupted as police attempted to move protesters from the Stuart Highway in Alice Springs, after the demonstration began at the local courthouse, the ABC reported. Among those arrested during the scuffle was Dylan Voller, an Indigenous Australian man who rose to prominence when footage showing him being restrained by a hood and tied to a chair while in youth detention caused outrage.
