Awesome Dolphins Keep Man Company In See-Through Canoe
Michael McCarthy from the See Through Canoe Company was recently canoeing in St. Petersburg, Florida, when two rather friendly dolphins began swimming alongside him. The dolphins are instantly mesmerized with the see-through boat and start swimming around the canoe.
Michael explains: “These two dolphins often come to visit me when I am canoeing near Fort De Soto in St. Petersburg, Florida. They always seem as happy to see me as I am to see them and they often hang around the canoe for quite a while”.
There is no doubt that the dolphins are very curious about the transparent canoe, but what makes these captivating creatures so often swim and play alongside boats? Most notably, dolphins are extremely curious and intelligent animals. When they notice an unfamiliar object moving along the surface of the water their inquisitive nature compels them to approach ships and determine the cause of the commotion.
Dolphins are also incredibly communicative. They show apparent joy when they hear humans clap and cheer for them. These charismatic animals will acknowledge and react to adoring crowds, from rolling over to leaping from the water, they’re always eager to perform for an audience.
Interestingly, Michael’s canoe is see through which seems to intrigue the dolphins and causes them to swim back and forth underneath the canoe for a long time, playing as he cruises along. What an amazing encounter.
The See Through Canoe (since 2007) is a transparent kayak/canoe hybrid with all sorts of unique awesome options like a silent motor, folding shade top, and LED lights. He mounted a camera to the bottom of the canoe which caught some awesome footage of the dolphin from a really cool perspective
