A number of Las Vegas hotels were placed on lockdown following the mass shooting at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino late on Sunday, October 1. More than 50 people were killed and more than 200 injured, police said. Sheriff Joseph Michael Lombardo confirmed shortly after the shooting that the suspect, 64-year-old Stephen Pollack, was killed by police.
