Airstrikes hit a school in the village of Batbo, located west of Aleppo in Syria on September 27, causing major damage to the building. The video showed a building with a sign saying “Welcome to the Blossoms of the Revolution School,” which a pro-opposition news media report said the school was called. A man in the video said 300 students attended the school, but none were injured because the school was targeted at night. In a second video by a different opposition news source, the same man holds a component of what is likely a cluster munition. Airstrikes in opposition areas, including Idlib and Hama, have increased after an agreement to create de-escalation zones in Syria was made between Russia, Iran and Turkey in Astana, Kazakhstan, on September 15.
