Hurricane Maria turned toward the northeast early on Wednesday, September 26, but was still churning the surf on North Carolina’s Outer Banks. The storm’s center was about 165 miles east of Cape Hatteras on Wednesday morning. This footage shows the rough surf off Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head on Tuesday.
