Explosions lit up the sky over Ukraine’s Vinnytsia region after a fire broke out at a military warehouse late on September 26. According to reports from ZN.UA and Hromadske the warehouse was located in Kalinovka, a town about 16 miles from Vinnytsia city, and locals were issued with a voluntary evacuation order. Video from Vinnytsia residents shared on social media shows the fire and explosions from the warehouse. A Facebook post from the Ministry of Internal Affairs indicated that two armored fire engines were involved in extinguishing the blaze and local authorities had cordoned off the area. Officials have opened an investigation into the fire. The fire in Kalinovka is the latest in series of incidents at ammo depots in Ukraine this year. The Kyiv Post reported that a fire damaged a munitions warehouse in Mariupol earlier this month and huge blast damaged a weapons stockpile in Balakliya in March.
