Police in Kenya used tear gas to disperse crowds during a protest calling for election officials to be removed from office before the country’s next presidential vote. Videos show confrontations near the election commission headquarters in Nairobi before tear gas was fired by police. The Supreme Court in Kenya annulled President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election after it said irregularities were found in the August 8 vote. Kenyatta’s opponent, Raila Odinga, said he would not participate in the new vote scheduled for October 26 if the current election officials were not removed from office and prosecuted.
