Don’t you just love these unlikely friendships as they unfold in front of your very eyes? Animals can prove time and again that ‘species’ is just a term imposed on us by scientists since the beginning of time and everyone can get along with anyone!

A cute video has emerged of a horse meeting a baby kangaroo in South Australia. The video, shot on August 3, shows the unafraid baby kangaroo standing on its hind legs and sniffing the horse's muzzle. The horse doesn’t lack enthusiasm either, as he looks over and around the joey, checking him out in the bushes. That is super awesome, if we might say so!

The kangaroo is a marsupial from the family Macropodidae (macropods, meaning "large foot"). In common use the term is used to describe the largest species from this family, especially those of the genus Macropus: the red kangaroo, antilopine kangaroo, eastern grey kangaroo, and western grey kangaroo. Kangaroos are endemic to Australia. The Australian government estimates that 34.3 million kangaroos lived within the commercial harvest areas of Australia in 2011, up from 25.1 million one year earlier.

Kangaroos may be adorable and cute to look at, but this little guy can probably knock the teeth out of Mr. Ed’s mouth over here when he grows older. Just look at a couple of his distant cousins fight!
