The hurricane season is long behind us, but the devastation it left behind can still be felt today. Many were left homeless, others were separated from their loved ones and pets. Many dogs had to wait for months to be reunited with their owners, but this little guy did not have to wait that long. A group of brave human beings jumped into rushing floodwaters to bring back this hapless pup back to his rightful place - next to his owners!

In his very dramatic footage, some brave people in Lumberton, Texas work together to save the life of a dog that was at risk of being swept away by flood waters from hurricane Harvey. The tiny black-and-white pooch named Bandit has climbed into a tree as the flood waters were rushing in. One man, seen in a red shirt and vest, wades through the mean stream of murky water towards the scared animal, while other volunteers anchor him down with ropes.

The video, shot and originally posted by one Kavan Wise, was seen more than 268,000 times. Later, Bandit’s owner Casey Frederick, re-posted the same clip on her Twitter profile, thanking the volunteers for saving her pet. She says the dog’s collar got stuck on a branch as he was trying to follow her teen sons as they were riding their ATV across a flooded bridge.

Many dogs had to be shipped to Puerto Rico to save them from the storm, but they also had to wait several months to be reunited with their loved ones. The clip where they finally get reunited with their families demands at least one jumbo-sized box of Kleenex!
