The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is reminding motorists in the Detroit area that starting Monday portions of I-75 North and south will be closed in preparation of Michigan’s first high-occupancy vehicle lanes.
The new HOV lanes will use the left lane in each direction between 12 Mile Road and South Boulevard. They will operate during peak hours, Monday through Friday, where during those times vehicles must have at least two human occupants to legally use the lanes.
