Not everyone on this planet will have the chance to meet some of Earth’s majestic inhabitants up close, most of whom won’t be able to even see some of these creatures in sanctuaries or ZOOs. We really hope that the kids on this boat know how lucky they are!

This family got a surprise visit from a pod of humpback whales while on a boat on the Santa Barbara Channel in California, USA. The man steering the boat turned the music and engine off, so that the pod of humpback whales under the surface don’t get scared or hurt from the propeller. As soon as silence spread over the water, once of the whales breached the surface, marking the beginning of a moment everyone on board.

After recording a video of the encounter, Stephanie Lambert said the whales were very friendly and stuck around for 20 minutes.

These curious humpback whales were very interested in this boat during a tour in the Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia.Donna Huskins said the whales were so close they could almost touch them and her video shows the humpbacks floating on the surface right beside the boat. The captain of the boat noted that whales don’t usually come so close and was very surprised by their interest in the boat and its passengers.
