Huge swaths of Miami were left without power on Sunday, September 10, after Hurricane Irma battered the city and turned downtown streets into rivers. Electricity was cut to nearly 2.2 million households and business across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties and more than four million customers experienced power outages across the state, according to local reports.
