Powerful winds from former Hurricane Irma pushed the water out of Pensacola Bay, Florida, exposing the sea floor and marine life on Monday, September 11. The storm had caused the same phenomenon to occur in the shallow waters off Long Island in the Bahamas and Tampa, Florida earlier this week. Pensacola News Journal reported that the incident was a form of reverse storm surge and the water would return when the wind died down.
