Thousands marched in Brisbane on September 10 for marriage equality, with a counter-protester escorted from the rally by police. Sam Sciacca recorded the crowd marching down Brisbane’s George Street and a counter-protester being led away from the rally. In Queensland, male homosexuality was illegal until 1990. A postal vote will be mailed to 16 million Australian voters from September 12, after the High Court ruled on September 7 that the government’s $122 million plebiscite was lawful. The results of the survey will be available on November 15. Credit: Facebook/Sam Sciacca via Storyful
