Losing our baby teeth was one of the most stressful things our little selves have endured. The sheer anticipation of our teeth being pulled out from our own skull (we had no idea how that worked back then) was pain that we begged not to experience. Until they were plucked out of our mouths and we were left with a gap in our dentures and a laugh, because it wasn’t that big of a deal anyway.

Four-year-old Kora had one of her incisors already wiggling in its place and her dad was encouraging her to have it pulled out, instead of waiting for it to take its own course. Of course, Kora was terrified of the idea, so dad decided to make it more fun and memorable.

As it happens, Kora is a huge fan of Katniss Everdeen, the heroine from the Hunger Games franchise. She knows that Katniss was a very brave young woman and she aspires to be like her. So what better was for a Katniss fan to pull a wiggly tooth out, than with a bow and arrow?

At first, dad encouraged Kora to shoot the arrow herself, but some residual fear and the lack of strength in her toddler arms made the attempt unsuccessful. For the second try, dad took matters into his own hands literally and he shot that arrow straight ahead. The only thing left from Kora’s wiggly incisor was a tiny bit of blood on her tongue! Success!

The tooth fairy might have some pretty strict rules about giving rewards to kids losing their teeth, but we really hope that she will let little Kora slip. She was, after all, very brave.
