A novel breed of robotic dog has emerged, and its capabilities are driven by an artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm.

Developed by AI researchers at Stanford University and the Shanghai Qi Zhi Institute, this cutting-edge vision-based algorithm empowers these robotic dogs to perform impressive feats, including scaling tall structures, leaping across gaps, maneuvering beneath low-hanging obstacles, and navigating through narrow cracks.

Essentially, the algorithm functions as the cognitive center for these robotic canines, serving as their “brains.”

This information is based on a recent press release from the institutions, which was obtained by Interesting Engineering this week.
