Rumble At least two fire whirls – commonly known as fire devils or ‘fire tornadoes’ – were captured on video by Todd Roth in Sunland, north of Los Angeles, as the La Tuna Fire burned near homes in the area on Saturday, September 2. By Saturday morning, the fire had grown to more than 5000 acres and was just 10 percent contained. Authorities said it had destroyed at least one home and continued to threaten others. Around 500 firefighters had been deployed to battle the blaze. Credit: Twitter/Todd Roth via Storyful
