At least eight people were killed and dozens trapped under rubble after a residential building collapsed in central Mumbai on August 31, local media reported. The Mumbai Mirror said that the collapse occurred around 8.30 am in the Bhendi Bazaar area of the city. Ambulances, 10 fire brigades and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams were involved in the emergency response at the scene. The building was over a century old. Structures of that age are said to have been put at risk by the worst rain to hit Mumbai in over a decade. Credit: Twitter/Ranjeet Jadhav via Storyful
