Rumble Some Houston area residents were able to return to their homes as the water receded in some neighborhoods as Tropical Storm Harvey moved away from Houston on Wednesday, August 30. Brittany Bohanon, who streamed this video live on Facebook, was able to return to her home with other family members on Wednesday. Her video shows a survey of the damage caused on the first floor, which she said was submerged in water. She also remarked several times about the stink left behind by the flood. She also paused to point out a china cabinet in her family’s home, which she said has survived other storms and nothing has ever been broken inside it. About 32,000 people stayed in an American Red Cross emergency shelter on Tuesday night after authorities performed thousands of water rescues since Harvey first hit the area last weekend.
