Iraqi Forces Discover Islamic State Prison While Clearing Tal Afar

Iraqi Federal Police found an Islamic State prison while sweeping through al-Saad neighborhood in west Tal Afar, Iraq, according to a video published on August 28. The video shows the medicine and painkillers that ISIS militias are believed to have used in the prison such as the Turkish anti-inflammatory drug Dekort. The video is also described as showing the torture methods that ISIS used in prison, such as electric shocks and hanging using handcuffs. Local reports said that 18 dead bodies had been found in the same prison. Iraqi Armed Forces announced they were in control of all 29 neighborhoods in Tal Afar city, however fighting was ongoing in al-’Ayadiya, about 7 miles north of Tal Afar, where IS militants fled, according to Reuters.
