Fire services were treating dozens of people in a suspected chemical incident around Birling Gap beach in East Sussex on Sunday evening, August 27. Beachgoers reported breathing difficulties and eye irritation after a haze settled over the area. East Sussex police warned nearby residents to stay indoors and keep windows shut.
