Hurricane Harvey barreled into the Texas coastline near Corpus Christi in the early hours of August 26 with top winds of 130mph, bringing with it a huge storm surge. One local resident in Corpus Christi captured this footage of a smoldering house he described as burnt to the ground on Padre Island, just south of the city, on August 26. According to him, the area had no power and no water. Rockport, located 50 miles north, has been worst hit so far. With prolific rain expected over coming days, the National Hurricane Center warned “devastating flooding” was on its way to Corpus Christi and Houston. Credit: Facebook/Ricky J Martinez via Storyful
