Smoke from the largest wildfire seen in Spain this year shrouded the northwestern La Cabrera region on Friday, August 25. Reports said the fire was contained after scorching almost 10,000 hectares (24,700 acres) since the start of the week. However, firefighters along its northern front said the flames continued to threaten communities, forcing further evacuations in Robledo. Nearly 500 firefighters were deployed to the area to bring the fire under control on the ground and from the air.
