At least 14 people were killed on August 25 after violence erupted in Panchkula, northern India, following the conviction of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, a religious leader, for rape on August 25. President Ram Nath Kovind condemned the violence, calling on all citizens to “maintain peace.” A television crew and van from NDTV reportedly came under attack near the courthouse after the verdict was handed down. This video shows a red TV van being rocked back and forth before the front window is broken. The van tallies exactly with that seen in NDTV reports.
