Flying Squirrels....Sugar Gliders

Sugar gliders received their name due to their fondness for consuming nectar and flowers, although they also include insects in their diet. Their scientific classification, Petaurus breviceps, translates to "short-headed rope dancer." Interestingly, sugar gliders were first introduced to Tasmania in 1835, and they remain the sole glider species in the state. These charming marsupials are commonly sought after in the pet trade, particularly in the United States of America.
