Eight people, from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, were reported missing on August 24, a day after a landslide in Bondo, near the Swiss-Italian border. Relatives reported six of the people missing, while another two people who were in the area during the landslide could not be contacted. The rockslide at the Piz Cengalo peak rolled into the Bondasca Valley, causing some structural damage and blocking roads.
