In this video, Dr. Berg talks about the problems of consuming not enough protein on a ketogenic diet. It is recommended to take 3 to 6 ounces of protein each meal. Hypoproteinemia is a condition where you have low protein in the blood. Stress increases the demand for protein.

Hypoproteinemia Symptoms:
• Edema – Swelling in the lower extremities of the ankles, feet, and hand. It is caused by the low albumin in the blood causing the body to hold fluid in the space around the cells outside the blood.
• Ascites – A fluid-filled sac
• Weakness
• Loss of Muscle (Atrophy)
• Poor Immune System – Increase your susceptibility to infection
