Dunn’s gesture is in memory of his own single mother who had always dreamed of owning a home of her own. Dunn and community organizations help furnish these homes. In addition, they also help with appliances, food and down payment. So that moms like Rickita and her kids can achieve their dreams.
Warrick Dunn and this charity organization assists single parents in becoming first-time homeowners by providing the materials necessary for long-term stability and the provisions required to ensure that both parent and children can thrive educationally, socially and economically. So far, they have rewarded over 149 single parents and their children with homes and made their american dream of first-time homeownership come true.
When Rickita pulled up to her new habitat home she thought she was just going to have a simple home dedication with Southern Crescent Habitat volunteers, her family and her friends. However, she knew something was going on when she saw over 60 people in her front yard as well as a dozen cameras and different news crews.
