How long has it been since you did a random act of kindness towards a total stranger? After a month of sermons on the subject of being generous, one congregation did something completely unexpected for someone who needed it most.

One church in Sycamore Creek, Ohio called up Dominoes and ordered a $5.99 worth of pizza. But when the delivery woman arrived, they weren’t waiting for her to drop the pie; they wanted to drop something on her instead.

Reverend Steve Markle had been teaching his church about generosity, a series of sermons called “I Was Broke. Now I’m Not", with a monthly emphasis on “Random Acts of Kindness". So when the woman, who introduces herself as Natasha in the video, brought the pizza to the church in Pickerington, a suburb southeast of Columbus, Markle asked her to come to the front of the sanctuary. He then asks her what’s the biggest tip she had received, with Natasha answering that she’d gotten $10 once. Markle gives her $15 for the pie, before saying:

"We've been teaching our church this last month about being generous, and so we did something special for you today. We took up a special offering for a tip for you." and handed her a stack of over $1000 in bills.

We don’t have to tell you how touched this random woman was for getting the biggest tip that anyone has ever received in their lifetime. Natasha managed to say “Thank you" between teary sobs, because their generous tip will make a huge difference in her life!
