When Matt Hickling learned from his patient Abby’s mom that she can’t wait to go in for treatment that week because she was ‘marrying’ him, the nurse knew just the perfect thing to do. He rounded up all the staff at the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer to act as guests, while Abby’s physician acted as an officiator!

It was the 4-year-old <a href="https://rumble.com/v3p4i1-local-8-year-old-battling-leukemia-while-being-an-inspiration-to-his-commun.html" target="_blank">leukemia</a> patient who asked Matt “will you marry me?". Nurses acted as maids of honor, humming the wedding march as Abby, from Albany, New York, walked down the rose petal aisle. The “<a href="https://rumble.com/v3a62z-newlyweds-show-off-funky-dance-moves.html" target="_blank">newlyweds</a>" exchanged ring pops and even got to cut a wedding cake! Abby's dream became a reality thanks to Matt, who has been one of the little girl's main nurses at the hospital's Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders for almost a year.

A white princess gown was ready for the surprised Abby to slip over her clothes while Matt was outfitted in a dapper tuxedo T-shirt. Abby's mother walked her down an aisle of pink rose petals that matched her bouquet made of flowers donated by a local florist for the occasion. Most of the Melodies Center staff came to watch and they hummed the wedding march as Abby began to walk.

Afterwards Matt pushed Abby down the hall in their 'Just Married' car, which even had tin cans tied to the back. Abby even received a frame with a picture of her and Matt inside that was signed by the center's entire staff. She said it was 'the best day ever'.
