Niger's Military leaders have struck a deal with the US. They are letting the American soldiers resume intelligence & security operations in the country to counter terrorism in the Sahel.

Meanwhile the Junta wants French troops out of the country. But French President Emmanuel Macron recently said he would only redeploy his troops if asked to by the ousted Mohamed Bazoum.

Over the weekend, Niger's junta arrested a French official. He was let out on Wednesday after France demanded his release.
