Tornado Topples Trees on to Trailers and Tents at Northern Italy Campsite

A severe summer storm whipped through northern Italy on August 10, toppling trees on to trailers and tents at popular tourist campsites east of Venice, as seen in this video. Governor of the Veneto region Luca Zaia declared an “open” state of crisis while waiting for damage reports from towns and cities following the possible tornado. Veneto’s emergency medical services tweeted that 45 people have been wounded, 3 of which were hospitalized. Of the wounded, 30 were from Jesolo, 2 from San Dona, 12 from Venice and 1 from Treviso.
